Welcome to the Sint Maarten Reading Festival
The Reading Festival will take place on
Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27, 2025.
We are excited to announce the second edition of the Reading Festival St. Maarten, a collaborative initiative of Stichting Biblionef Netherlands, Help Our Children Foundation, the Sint Maarten Library, 721 Kids Foundation, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth & Sport, and the University of St. Martin. Together, we aim to foster a love of reading and create joyful and meaningful reading experiences for all children on the island.
The festival is designed as a strategic platform to promote literacy and underscore the importance of reading, with a focus on elementary school students, parents, and educators. Through carefully curated activities, such as workshops, storytelling sessions, and interactions with authors, the festival aims to create an enriching and educational environment that inspires a love for books and learning.
The Reading Festival goes beyond celebrating literature; it seeks to instill a deeper appreciation for reading by actively engaging children, teachers, and the wider community. With a focus on lasting impact, the festival aspires to build a culture of reading that transcends the event, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and intellectual growth. This festival represents a significant milestone in our collective mission to elevate literacy and educational engagement in St. Maarten. Join us in making this vision a reality.
