The two-day Reading Festival Aruba, which aims to stimulate reading pleasure amongst thousands of children, will be held on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th, 2026.
The Reading Festival is made possible thanks to the support of the Dutch Foundation for Literature.

Preparations for the Reading Festival Aruba Underway
The preparations for the Reading Festival Aruba are underway and the organization is getting ready for a large-scale and festive event. To share the joy of reading with as many children as possible, diverse activities will be organized to stimulate reading; from workshops with authors, artists (media, AI, storytelling and poetry) to music and dance performances.

Special Program for ciclo básico 1 on Friday, February 27th
On Friday, February 27th, students from 13 seconary schools will take part in activities to encourage reading skills and reading pleasure. In order to reach as many students as possible, the activities will be held at different venues across the island. At three separate secondary schools: EPB HATO, Colegio Arubano and the Filomena College MAVO, workshops by authors, artists, teachers in training and interactive language games will be organized for Ciclo básico students.

Festival for Children of all Ages on Saturday, February 28th.
Children of all ages and their parents are welcome to attend the activities on Saturday, February 28th. The festivities will take place at the Filomena College in San Nicolas. Activities for children of all ages will be on offer: reading aloud, book start suitcases for very young children, AI and coding workshops for secondary schools students and interactive storytelling for children and parents, and much more! Besides educational activities, there will also be plenty of entertainment, such as music, dance, performances and games: a festive event where reading will be the key element.

Book Donations and Prizes
After the successful reading festivals on Sint Maarten, we are looking forward to a spectacular festival on Aruba. With more than 2500 books to donate, the Reading Festival will fulfill its mission of reading promotion, creativity, and the imagination. All participants also have the chance to win wonderful prizes! After the reading festival, all books, educational materials and language games, used during the Reading Festival, will be available from the Biblioteca Nacional Arubano.
